New Market, August 9, -- John Calvin Hampton, died at his home here yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock as a result of a stroke of paralysis.  Mr. Hampton was born in Kentucky, September 25, 1843, and very early in his life came to this place where he has since resided.  He was a veteran of the civil war, a member of the Odd Fellows and K of P lodges and a member of the Christian Church.  He is survived by nine children, three sons, Ollie, Preston and A.L. Hampton, and six daughters, Mrs. May Ray, Mrs. Gertrude Britton, Mrs. Winnie Vancleave, Mrs. Ruth Childers, Mrs. Ann Hester, all of New Market, and Mrs, Annie Rush of Crawfordsville.The funeral services will be held in the Christian church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock under the charge of Rev. W.D. Headrick of Indianapolis.  The burial will be made in the Masonic cemetery at Crawfordsville.
